It seems the Lotus Exige has been everywhere lately, from great reviews in numerous magazines, all the way to the toy aisle! This month, we will look at a few new goodies that focus on the Exige!
First off, IXO models, a 1/43 scale die cast manufacturer out of China, has now put their stamp of approval on the Lotus Exige. Currently, it is only available in Silver, but I am sure that as time goes on, other color combinations will be released. Not actually having this model ... yet ( I can't afford them all!). I can't comment on the quality, but if it's anything like the Lotus Elite that IXO has released, you certainly won't be disappointed! For more information, their website is www.ixomodels.com
If RC cars are more your thing. then the latest release of a 1:10 scale remote control Exige is for you!! This beast is put out by a company called Hitari, out of England. and includes some great detail. In addition. a battery pack and recharger is included for the car. This vehicle is supposedly available at WalMart. However, I have not seen them anywhere in the two WalMart's that are in my town. I had to resort to ebay to get this one. Hitari's website is www.hitari.com, and might have US stores that carry this great car.
Finally, if you missed out on buying the Lotus Elise 340R offered by Hot Wheels a few years ago....well, you're in luck. The latest variation in the 340R (in 1/64 scale) is #129 for 2006, and is painted yellow with black tampo flames on the car. Here's another picture of it out of the package (yes. I did take the plunge, Jon, and open up one of my cars!).
As you can see, it's been an amazing (and absolutely wallet draining) time for lotus collectibles..., with no end in sight. So until next month... happy hunting!
